NASEO Winter Fuels Outlook Conference 2005

October 12, 2005
Hilton Garden Inn, Washington, DC

The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), Energy Information Administration (EIA), and the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) cordially invite you to participate in the 2005-2006 Winter Fuels Outlook Conference. This supply and demand forecast event will be on October 12, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005.

Global oil supply uncertainty and high demand for heating fuels may increase the potential for supply/distribution problems this winter. Minor perturbations in the distribution system can cause price volatility with potential surges in prices in localized regions.

To help inform the energy community about the current situation, this conference will include EIA's Winter Fuels Outlook along with presentations by industry representatives and energy experts. Presentations include:

  • Winter Fuels Outlook. EIA Administrator, Guy Caruso, will present the latest heating fuel supply data during this must-attend presentation of EIA’s Winter Fuels Outlook 2005-2006.
  • Winter Weather Forecast. Predictions on how this season’s weather affect supplies from a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration expert.
  • World Oil Supply. Renowned oil analyst Adam Sieminski, Deutshce Bank, will offer the latest assessment of world crude oil supplies and will inform attendees about important production and price scenarios that could influence markets.
  • Distillate Supply Issues. What do experts see shaping up this winter for this key heating fuel? Will refineries be able to build stock in time? A nationally recognized distillate expert will offer his views on this important topic.
  • Propane. Increasingly, propane is playing an important role for consumers, businesses, and agriculture. A leading propane expert will provide his views on this versatile fuel.
  • Natural Gas Issues. In addition to the latest gas data, this session will examine the outlook for the demand / supply picture. A nationally recognized expert will provide his views on this key heating fuel.
