NASEO Welcomes New Buildings Committee Co-Chair

The NASEO Buildings Committee is pleased and excited to welcome its newest State Co-Chair, Laith Younis of the California Energy Commission.

Laith is a Specialist for the Existing Buildings Unit of the California Energy Commission. Currently his role is focused on statewide building benchmarking efforts and data related processes within the Efficiency Division. Prior to his time at the CEC, Laith spent six years starting a west coast office for an energy service company. As a project engineer, he would audit, design, propose, and manage energy efficiency projects. Earlier positions include time in Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications. Laith completed a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management and an MBA with a focus in communications.

Laith joins Christian Williss of the Colorado Energy Office and Chris Baker of The Weidt Group as Buildings Committee Co-Chairs. Laith brings welcome, and complementary, experience and expertise as he rounds out the roster of Committee leadership.

The Committee looks forward to continuing to address and make considerable progress on the building energy policies and programs that are most important to State Energy Offices. The Committee welcomes your participation, thoughts, and questions. For more information, please contact Todd Sims of NASEO at tsims@naseo.org.
