More than $119 Million for State Energy Programs in Seven States and Territories

U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced more than $119 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to support energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Alabama, American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, North Dakota, and Wyoming.  Under DOE's State Energy Program, states and territories have proposed statewide plans that prioritize energy savings, create or retain jobs, increase the use of renewable energy, and reduce carbon pollution.  Please click here for the full press release and additional detail on the individual awards.    

More Than $66 Million for Weatherization Programs

U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced that the Department of Energy is providing more than $66 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to expand weatherization assistance programs in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut and Hawaii. The funding, along with additional funds to be disbursed after the states meet certain Recovery Act milestones, will help these states weatherize approximately 26,300 homes, lowering energy costs for low-income families that need it, reducing pollution, and creating green jobs across the country.  Please click here for the full press release and additional detail on the individual awards.

Recovery Act Reporting Webinar Training Materials Now Available

On July 20, 2009, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) hosted a four-day series of online forums to help Recovery Act recipients better understand and comply with the transparency guidelines. The forums consisted of seven webinars which were streamed live on WhiteHouse.gov.  The audio recordings and PowerPoint presentations can be downloaded at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/Recovery/WebinarTrainingMaterials/.

Live Webcast - Three-Part Series on the Commercial Requirements of the 2009 IECC
