The Alaska Energy Security Task Force convened throughout 2023 to develop a comprehensive energy plan that focuses on evaluating Alaska’s generation, transmission, and distribution assets. The plan includes strategies to modernize these assets in the short, medium, and long-term timeframes to make them more affordable, reliable, and resilient.  Subcommittees established by the task force focused on geographic area needs as well as data collection, incentives and subsidies, and statutes and regulations. The report was submitted to the Governor on December 1, 2023.
