The National Nuclear Security Administration’s Pantex weapons facility will soon be home to the largest federally owned wind farm in the country. The facility, located just outside of Amarillo, Texas, will utilize five 2.3 megawatt turbines over 1500 acres near the plant . Siemens Government Technologies was awarded the contract to build and operate the wind farm.
