The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) will hold the NASEO Electricity Markets Education Initiative Workshop on Tuesday, August 26 – Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The intended audience is representatives from State Energy Offices in states that are not currently within organized electricity markets, which include Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore how different wholesale electricity market structures affect resiliency, reliability, regional resource adequacy, and regional planning. This workshop will be comprised of technical presentations from experts along with opportunities for peer exchange and regional dialogue. More details to come! 

The workshop is open to the directors and staff of the invited State Energy Offices. The workshop is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy's Grid Deployment Office.
